Archives& Outreach Contractor

The Paso Robles History Museum at the Carnegie Library is the home of the El Paso de Robles Area Historical Society (PRAHS).  The Society’s mission is to collect, protect, and preserve photographs, documents, and publications related to the Paso Robles area, and to promote and share fuller knowledge of local history through exhibits, research, and educational efforts within the community.

  1. Duties & Responsibilities 
  • This position takes direction from and reports directly to the PRAHS Board of Directors for a 3 to 6 month term.  

  • Donations/Collections: 

    • Receive all “Potential Donation Applications”.  With the Collections/Archive Committee, determine appropriateness of potential donation for the Museum.  Respond to donor with decision on acceptance. Complete “Deed of Gift Form” and forward to Committee for accessioning.   

    • Work with Collections/Archive Committee to eliminate and deaccession duplicate collections within the Museum archives.

    • Develop, with the Collections/Archive Committee, a curatorial policies and procedures manual for archiving new and existing collections within the Past Perfect system.   

  • Outreach:

    • Work with the research team and events committee to provide the following: 

    • On a weekly basis, work with contracted social media professional to provide and approve content for Facebook & Instagram.  

    • Provide articles to Paso Robles Daily News on a monthly basis. 

    • Provide information to local media “Community Calendars” based on events, needs, etc. at the Museum.  

  • Website Management: In coordination with contracted social media professional, maintain and update website as needed.
