share a STORY...
Despite our best efforts to put historic puzzles together - we occasionally find ourselves needing a bit more information. Could you hold the missing piece?
Here you'll find some of the projects and topics that we're currently researching - and seeking further information about. There may be old family stories, or little-known facts that haven't made it to our archives yet. If you have a local anecdote or story, relevant to these topics, we'd love to hear from you.
Thank you!
Love & romantic scandals
Yes, you read that right... the Historical Society & Museum is seeking love. Well... love stories, anyway. If you know of a good one that happened in or around the Paso Robles area - please get in touch. Whether it be uplifting, tragic, or hard to believe, we'd love to hear about it. OUTLAWS & CRIME
The years 1848 -1858 in California, have been referred to as the "Decade of Fear". The gold rush was in full-swing, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed - ending the war between Mexico and the United States, and immigrants were arriving from all over the world. Tensions and animosity ran high. These circumstances set the stage for many notorious outlaws and crimes, in the latter half of the 19th Century. If you have little-known information on the following:
Dalton Brothers Gang, Joaquin Murrietta & Three Fingers Jack, Jesse James/James Gang, the Reed Family Massacre - or other outlaws/incidents on the Central Coast - please click here to send an email about this topic.
